CLOUD COMPUTING

CLOUD COMPUTING The Greek myths tell of creatures plucked from the surface of the Earth and enshrined as constellations in the night sky. Something similar is happening today in the world of computing. Data and programs are being swept up from desktop PCs and corporate server rooms and installed in “the compute cloud”. In general, there is a shift in the geography of computation. An emerging computer paradigm where data and services reside in massively scalable data centers in the cloud and can be accessed from any connected devices over the internet. Like other definitions of topics like these, an understanding of the term cloud computing requires an understanding of various other terms which are closely related to this. While there is a lack of precise scientific definitions for many of these terms, general definitions can be given. Cloud computing is an emerging paradigm in the computer industry where the computing is moved to a cloud of computers. It has become one of the buzz word...

History of Computers

Computers , as the term suggests, were originally developed for computing and calculations . However, present day computers are more commonly used for non-numeric purposes like graphics, music, and word processing than for numeric calculations. Computer is an electronic device which can receive, store, and process data according to a set of instructions (known as computer program) stored in it to generate the output. The data could be almost any thing, like The Names, Register numbers and Marks of students in a class, or it could be a Song, a Picture, or a Document or it could be the Temperature and Pressure on different parts of a Space-craft or the Blood pressure, E.C.G and other vital parameters of a patient in the critical care unit of a hospital or the Photo, Finger print and other details of a suspected criminal. Whatever is the data, the computer stores and handles all of them as just numbers or digits. Hence such computers are known as Digital Computers . Almost all computers ...
